Matt Joyce continued to stay hot at the plate with a pair of hits including a solo home run in the third inning which gave the Rays a 2-0 lead. Price struck out ten hitters but in the ninth inning gave up a solo home run to Joey Votto cutting the leas to 1-run.

Grant Balfour came on for the Rays to close out the win and after walking the bases loaded, Balfour finally closed the door on a 2-1 Rays victory.
