Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA) A 75 year old Tampa man is facing homicide and elderly neglect charges after deputies say he allowed his bedridden wife to starve to death.
When Harold Allen called 911 after 75 year old Karen Allen died in January, Hillsborough County Sheriff Investigators found her extremely underweight and emaciated.
Her husband told deputies, he was her only care giver and that she had not been treated by a doctor in over five years.
An autopsy showed she suffered from deep vein thrombosis, severe dehydration and malnourishment. After the medical examiners office released their findings, Harold Allen was arrested on Monday.
