Tampa Crash Kills Motorcyclist

Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A motorcyclist died Saturday night after a collision with a van that had failed to yield the right-of-way at an intersection, Tampa Police said.  At about 10:30 p.m., the Ford Econoline van going south on MacDill Ave. failed to yield to a motorcycle going east on Hillsborough Ave.

The motorcycle struck the van.

Its rider, Antonio Castillo, 25, was taken to St. Joseph's hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the van "showed no signs of impairment, remained at the scene, and has cooperated fully with police investigators," a news release from Tampa Police said.
