HILLSBOROUGH, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Hillsborough County deputies say around 8:30 p.m. Sunday several uniformed deputies were standing outside the front entrance of the Citgo Quick Mart conducting an unrelated investigation that occurred in the store parking lot.

Deputies say during the same time, 28-year-old Emmanuel Camper who was inside the store walked out the front door without paying for his beer.

Officials say as he exited out the door, deputies heard the clerk yell, “He was stealing beer.”

HCSO says apparently Camper, who was already intoxicated, neglected to see the deputies standing near the doorway and marked patrol units with overhead lights on parked in the lot outside the door.

Deputies say Camper was arrested and transported to Orient Road jail.
