ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Coast Guard crews are offloading nearly $19 million in cocaine Friday in St. Petersburg, officials said.

Crews based out of Miami detected a go-fast vessel on August 7 south of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and detained five suspected smugglers and seized 18 bales of contraband, which later tested positive for cocaine. They will be turned over to federal law enforcement in St. Petersburg, Coast Guard officials said.
