CHAOS IN CANADA: Van Mows Down Pedestrians in Downtown Toronto
Police arrested a suspect Monday afternoon after a white van plowed through a crowded pedestrian street in downtown Toronto; with law enforcement descending on the scene and local authorities shutting down nearby subway stations.
“Cops initially said eight to 10 people were hit near Yonge Street and Finch Avenue just before 1:30 p.m., but they later clarified it was too early to confirm the number of injuries,” reports Fox News. “After striking the pedestrians, the van fled the scene.”

A local resident who witnessed the carnage said the driver appeared calm as he intentionally drove his vehicle into the packed crowd; adding that he “witnessed a few people pass away in front” of him as the chaotic scene unfolded.
“[The driver] was definitely in control of what he was doing…he knew what he was doing,” he added.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau saying we will learn more “in the coming hours.”
“We’re just learning about the situation in Toronto now. Our hearts go out to anyone affected,” said Trudeau. “Obviously we’re going to have more to learn and more to say in the coming hours.”
