Report: Trump Told He's Not A "Target" Of Mueller Investigation

  • A recent Washington Post report stated that Trump's lawyers were told the president isn't a "target" of the special counsel investigation but is still a subject.
  • The legal difference between being a "target" and a "subject" is significant, although a subject can still eventually become a target depending on new evidence and revelations found by investigators.
  • Robert Mueller also reportedly will issue a detailed report with his findings. It will then be up to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to determine what details to release to the public.
