Car Strikes and Kills Pedestrian in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, Fla. (Newsradio WFLA) - A car struck a woman walking across the street early Saturday, and she died, police said. It happened at about 3:15 a.m. on 4th Street North near the intersection of NE Lincoln Circle, according to a news release from St. Petersburg Police. The front of a 2016 Nissan sedan struck the woman, who had walked into the road. Police had not released her name. She died later at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, according to the release. The driver has cooperated with officers, who say their investigation continues. They did not announce any charges.
