Kissimmee Man Arrested For Domestic Violence

Jay Gorberg

Kissimmee, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Polk County deputies have arrested a Kissimmee area man for domestic violence on a person 65 or older, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and resisting arrest.

Deputies say 65 year-old Jay Gorberg threatened his 65 year-old wife with a knife, choked her and slammed her into a wall during an argument at the home they share.  Investigators say Gorberg also attempted to handcuff his wife and wrap a rope around her neck, but she managed to escape and run away.

When deputies arrived, Gorberg refused to come out.  The standoff lasted for several hours until the man finally surrendered.

Turns out that Gorberg is a retired law enforcement officer from New York.
