Fire Crews Battle Northdale House Fire As Ammunition Explodes Inside

Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA)-Fire crews are investigating an overnight house fire in Northdale. 

 Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue says when crews arrived they saw the homeowner running away as flames were  shooting through the roof of the home in the 16,0000 block of Norwood Drive.  To make the situation even more dangerous,  ammunition stored inside the home was exploding. 

It took firefighters almost an hour to bring the blaze under control no one was injured, the cause of the fire is under investigation. 

The home owner identified as 53 year old Pat O'Brien was arrested near by on unrelated charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and burglary of occupied dwelling with assault. 

According to the sheriffs office report , O'Brien was discovered by a resident, inside a home in the  4000 block of Windflower Court.  When the resident confronted O'Brien, he pushed her to the ground, and ran outside.  A deputy  tasered O'Brien after he refused orders and ran toward the deputy with a knife.  

O'Brien is the lead guitarist for a death metal band called Cannibal Corpse. The group  has thousands of followers on FaceBook.  O'Brien is being held in the Orient Road Jail.
