Suspect Caught in St. Petersburg Murder

St. Petersburg, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Police have made an arrest in the case of a man found dead of a gunshot wound inside a running vehicle this week.  Lashaud Golden, 19, faces murder charges in the shooting death of Derrick L. Williams Jr., 27, Monday, according to a news release from St. Petersburg Police. Williams was found inside a vehicle with a single gunshot wound to the head, in the 100 block of 38th St N. Monday. 

Police arrested Golden Tuesday for an unrelated car jacking during which police say he shot a man in the back while trying to rob him near 35th St. S and 4th Ave. S., according to the news release. Golden now faces 2nd degree murder, attempted felony murder, carjacking (with weapon or firearm), and delinquent in possession of a firearm/electric weapon or device charges, the release said.
