Bartow, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Both the NTSB and FAA are investigating the crash of a small airplane in shallow water on the edge of Lake Hancock. The crash site is close to Smith Lane.
Two men were on board the aircraft when it went down. Polk County deputies say both men have been transported to the hospital, but are expected to survive their injuries.
The crash site is not accessible by land, so the Polk Sheriff's Office helicopter, specialty vehicles and agricultural units had to assist in getting the two men out of the area.
