Florida Unemployment Holds

Tallahassee, Fla-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Governor Rick Scott says Florida's unemployment rate is holding steady at 3.7 percent with the new numbers just released.  Scott says the figure represents a drop of over 7 percent since December of 2010.

Scott also says 121,000 people have entered Florida's labor force in the past year alone.  That number represents a growth of 1.2 percent.

Tampa Bay area unemployment dropped by 0.5 percent to 3.6 percent.  The area added almost 35,000 new private sector jobs in the past year.

The industries with the highest growth in the Tampa area were leisure, hospitality, education and health services.
