Cops: Speeding Biker Dies in St. Petersburg Crash

St. Petersburg, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A man died after losing control of his motorcycle at high speed Friday afternoon and crashing into a box truck, police said.

Michael Aaron Baker, 30, rode his 2018 Yamaha northbound on Park Street North "at a very high rate of speed," according to a news release from St. Petersburg Police. He leaned to make a right turn, but lost control, slid into southbound lanes, and struck a Dodge Ram box truck, driven by Andriy Dorosh, 28, the release said.

Baker, who did wear a helmet at the time of the crash, died shortly after arriving at Bayfront Health St. Pete.
