Mental evaluation ordered for Tampa mom accused of drowning daughter

Shakayla Denson did not attend this latest hearing.  But Hillsborough Circuit Judge Kimberly Fernandez appointed two doctors to evaluate Denson's mental capacity.

A competancy hearing is set for October 22nd.

Denson is charged with murdering her four-year-old daughter Je'Hyrah Daniels.  Investigators say, according to witnesses, Denson waded into the Hillsborough River near the Columbus Drive, carrying a screaming child into the middle of the river, then letting go of the child and walking out.  Je'Hyrah's body was found by the Tampa police dive team a short time later.
