Deputy Involved Shooting In Citrus County

Beverly Hills, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-A Citrus County deputy opens fire with deadly results while serving a drug search warrant at a house at 6019 West Rio Grande Drive here.

SWAT team members encountered a woman armed with a gun when they entered the house.  After refusing commands to drop the gun, the woman was shot by a deputy.   She was dead at the scene.

No deputies were hurt during the incident, but two other people got minor injuries during the execution of the search warrant. 

The deputy involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates the shooting.

Deputies have not yet released the name of the woman killed.
