Shooter in Stand Your Ground Case Charged with Manslaughter

Michael Drejka, the shooter in the recent Stand Your Ground case, has been charged with manslaughter and is being held on $100,000 bail.
Prosecution likely went with a manslaughter over a murder charge because it is easier to prove manslaughter than second-degree murder.
If the shooter is found guilty of manslaughter, he could face up to 30 years in prison, the minimum could be as little as ten years.
The forensic scene supervisor analyzed the scene with a 3D scanner, and was able to prove that at the time of the shooting, Drejka and McGlockton were approximately 12 feet away from each other.
Drejka's past accused violence played a role in the decision to charge- there have been multiple reported incidences of him pulling out his gun during altercations, and one incident in that same parking lot months earlier.
The burden of proof is now on the prosecution- they must prove that it was not reasonable for Drejka to believe his life was in imminent danger or he was in imminent danger of great bodily harm.
