Deputies Seek Suspect in Fatal Tampa Hit-and-Run

Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Detectives search for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a bicyclist early Sunday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Sometime between 2:00-4:00 a.m. a motor vehicle going south on 78th Street hit the cyclist near the intersection of Eau Claire Circle. The driver kept going, leaving the cyclist to die in the street. 

Deputies had not identified the rider as of late Sunday morning. The vehicle will have have front-end damage, including at least one broken headlight, likely the right front, according to a news release from the HCSO. It will also have damage to one of the right-side tire rims.
