St. Pete Man Busted For Fake Coke

Phillips, Tomas

St. Petersburg, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-A 23 year-old man finds himself in a heap of trouble after trying to sell what he said was cocaine to an undercover deputy. Turns out it was fake coke.

Pinellas County deputies say they arrested Tomas L. Phillips after he sold the undercover deputy 19 grams of some white powder that he claimed was cocaine. Phillips wanted $600 for the package.

Phillips was officially charged with the sale of a counterfeit substance, but bonded out of jail a short time after his arrest.

Deputies say Phillips is no stranger to the law as he has been arrested eight times since 2013.  Some of those prior arrests were for the possession and sale of cocaine.
