Brooksville, Fla. (970 WFLA) The Alfred McKethan/Pine Island Park observation deck, destroyed by Hurricane Hermine in 2016, has been restored and is now open to the public, according to a news release from the Hernando County Public Information Office. Located at 10840 Pine Island Drive just west of Weeki Wachee on the Gulf of Mexico, this observation deck is a popular spot for holding weddings and watching sunsets. The total project cost was approximately $27,000, the release said.
