Toys, Corgis or Dinosaurs... Who Are You Spending This Weekend With?

  • Toy Story Land opens to the public on Saturday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s an 11-acre section designed to a scale as if visitors have been shrunk to the size of green Army men and are loose in Andy’s back yard. The opening includes new rides, restaurants, and character experiences for park guests.  
  • Corgi's are on the loose! Watch these short-legged racers take their marks Saturday 5 p.m. at Tampa Bay Downs for Corgi Racing. 
  • The dinosaurs are coming! More than 100 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs will be invading the Florida State Fairgrounds this weekend when Jurassic Quest returns. It also includes a dino theater, dinosaur rides, fossil digs, inflatables, bungee pull, dinosaur petting zoo and photo opportunities. 3-8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 
  • There's great concerts all summer long in Tampa and this weekend is no exception. Check out Thirty Seconds to Mars and Walk the Moon at 6 p.m. Saturday at MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, tickets start at $30. 
  • This week in dress up: Head to Nerdier Than Thou- This sci fi/comic con with a literary twist features local authors, superheroes, comic book writers, award winning sci fi authors, horror, apocalypse stories and women who write genres. Check it out from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at Emerald City Comics. And if you need a costume, head over to the Tarpon Springs Heritage Museum 10 a.m.-4 p.m.Thursday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday for their Costume Clear-Out, where everything is $1-$10.
