the Skyway 10K is on for a second year

It's official.

The Skyway 10K race will enjoy a second year.

The second annual race is set for March 3rd, 2019.

The first race this past March raised $560,000 for the Armed Forces Family Foundation and organizers are expecting an even bigger check for the charity next year.

Also in 2019, the race is expanding from 7,500 runners to 8,000 who will tackle the 6.2-mile Sunshine Skyway span, which reaches 430-feet and its highest point.

Governor Rick Scott has also entered into an agreement to secure an annual Skyway 10K race for the next five years.

Registration for the race will be announced later this summer.
