Winter Haven, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A woman who works at a weight-loss clinic faces charges because she practiced medicine without a license, the Polk County Sheriff's Office says.
The arrest of Jesusadelaida "Jesse" Lopez, 39, came after an undercover operation by PCSO detectives working with the DEA and the Department of Health investigating the Drop It Like It's Hot weight-loss clinic on Cypress Gardens Blvd., according to news release.
The facility has a licensed medial doctor, but detectives say that Lopez performed medical procedures herself, and portrayed herself as a registered nurse even though she holds no medical degrees. She faces six counts of unlicensed practice of health care, a third-degree felony, according to the release.
