New Port Richey Woman Refuses Purse Snatcher

New Port Richey, Fla. (970 WFLA)- Pasco Detectives are searching for the  suspect who tried to steal an elderly woman's purse Monday.  

According to the Pasco Sheriff's Office,  it happened around noon in the parking lot of the  Walmart Neighborhood Market on Little Road in New Port Richey.  The victim resisted and the suspect gave up,  he drove off in a white 4-door sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry.

The person who attempted to steal the woman's  purse,  is also believed to be the same guy who robbed the  Dollar General store  at 6445 Massachusetts Avenue in New Port Richey about ten minutes later. 

He's described as a white male, 50's to 60's years of age, thin build, white or salt/pepper wavy hair.  He was wearing a black hat, white collar shirt with an unknown logo on the left chest, dark pants and a bracelet or watch on his right wrist.  

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the unknown suspect involved in these cases.  Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
