A baby is safe in St.Pete after he was inside a car that was stolen from an apartment complex on 116th Avenue North around noontime Monday.
Yolanda Fernandez of St. Pete police says a man was loading a car at the Gateway Apartments and secured an 8-month-old baby in his car, then ran inside the apartment to get his wallet.
That's when someone jumped in the car and took off with the baby in the back seat.
A short time later, that baby boy was found--in his car seat--in another parking lot a few miles away on 71st Avenue North.
The stolen car--a Toyota Camry--was found abanonded along 19th Street South. Police are still looking for the suspect.
