Marketing Vice President Eric Weisberg says the Rays are now 20 years old and looking back at their history. That includes their early days as the "Devil Rays" and their '08 World Series run.
The Rays will celebrate their 1998 team during their home opening series with the Boston Red Sox... focusing on March 31st, when they'll give away a commemorative seat cushion.
The Rays plan to honor the 2008 American League championship team August 4th when they play the White Sox. They'll be handing out a bobblehead of '08 star Akinori Iwamura at that game.
Weisberg says it's exciting that an entire generation has grown up that can't remember when there were no Rays or Devil Rays... and that generation is now old enough to buy its own tickets to the games.
