John Morgan Nixes Run for Governor

Orlando, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Orlando attorney John Morgan ended his flirtation with running for Florida governor Friday, tweeting that, "I can't muster the enthusiasm to run for the nomination."

Morgan, whose ubiquitous commercials for his eponymous law firm made him a household name throughout the state, was considered a front-runner if he ran for the Democratic nomination. He had made speeches around the state sounding like a potential candidate, which fueled speculation that he would try to replace fellow outsider Rick Scott, who had never held political office before he won election as governor in 2010.

Morgan did not decline to run because he favored any of his political rivals. "They're all the same," he tweeted. "Both parties. I plan to register as an independent and when I vote, vote for the lesser of two evils."
