TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- As the result of Hurricane Irma, boil water notices are up in several communities.
In Hernando County, areas east of I-75 are under a boil water notice because a downed tree broke a water main. In Sarasota, a 48-hour boil water notice is posted for several barrier islands including Bird Key, Lido Key and St. Armands Key, after a disruption in water service.
Meantime, City officials in Venice have water up and running again after a problem during Irma's approach. Residents there are urged to boil water until Thursday morning.
