TEMPLE TERRACE (970 WFLA) -- Temple Terrace Police say they arrested a man for burglary during a state of emergency. They went to the D-T-L-R clothing store at 9233 North 56th Street around 1:43 Sunday morning and say they found a smashed-out storefront and clothing missing. They tracked down the pickup on Busch Boulevard. The driver took off and crashed into a street sign at 40th Street and Seward. Jonathan Smalls, 31, taken into custody. Turns out there was also clothing and shoes from two other stores. The pickup truck was stolen too.
This follows the arrest of a couple of men in Lake Wales Saturday who were breaking into an evacuated house.
