Retailers Moving in Hurricane Supplies after Irma

TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Retailers are moving quickly to fill the shelves, after hurricane preppers cleaned them out earlier this week. Home Depot Spokesman Matt Harrigan says they started over this past weekend, and have 300 truckloads of supplies on the way to Florida.

"Once a storm of significance is spotted," Harrigan says, "the first thing we do is alert stores in the potential strike zone... and immediately begin mobilizing supplies" to that area.

Harrigan says they often deal with multiple weather events during winter months, but it's rare to be dealing with two hurricanes at once. But he says employees are working around the clock to restock store shelves.
