Johnny Haugabook, arrested for bank robbery in St. Petersburg, Fla.

St. Petersburg, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police make the hunt for a bank robbery suspect a short one. Officers say they managed to slap the cuffs on 49 year-old Johnny Leo Haugabook, Junior, less than an hour after the stick up.

Police say Haugabook walked into the Grow Financial on M.L.K. Street, North, and asked the teller to hand over the cash. Officers say Haugabook implied he had a gun.

Alert officers spotted the man walking along 14th Street, North, just 35 minutes after getting the call about the robbery. Officers say Haugabook had a large amount of cash when officers searched him.

Haugabook was serving federal probation at the time of the robbery. He's now in the custody of federal authorities.
