Road Rage Leads To Aggravated Assault Charges

North Port, Fla. (970 WFLA)- A case of road rage lands a 21 year old North Port man in jail,   after the Florida Highway Patrol says he pointed a shotgun at the occupants of another  car  on I-75.  

According to the FHP report, the two vehicles were heading south on I-75 at mile marker 194 when William Smith pointed a 12 gauge shotgun at the vehicle next to him, he then exited the interstate at mile marker 182.  North Port Police and the trooper stopped Smith's Jeep Cherokee at Sumter Blvd., and Price Blvd.  

He's charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a third degree felony. Smith was taken to the Sarasota County Jail
