Lakeland, Florida-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Polk County deputies have arrested 27 year-old Joseph Hicks for one count of battery on a law enforcement officer and one count of resisting an officer. Hicks is a Osceola County corrections deputy.
Investigators say Hicks showed up intoxicated at his daughter's soccer practice at Hunt Fountain Park in Lakeland. Witnesses say Hicks was acting belligerently towards players, coaches and other parents at the park.
Deputies say Hicks smelled of alcohol. Hicks was arrested after approaching a deputy in an aggressive manor and grabbing a deputy by the arm.
