Sarasota Man Arrested On Felony Drug Charges

Sarasota, Fla. (9970 WFLA)- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a Sarasota man on felony drug charges after an undercover investigation and subsequent search warrant revealed cash and drugs.

Detectives began their investigation in February after identifying several narcotic transactions at the home of 38-year-old Jason Wright. On Thursday, detectives took Wright into custody on an arrest warrant for Maintaining a Nuisance Dwelling. At the time of his arrest, detectives seized more than $2,500 in cash inside his vehicle.   Upon a  search of his home in the 3000 block of McCloud Circle, detectives seized cocaine, alprazolam, Xanax, buprenorphine and marijuana.

Wright is charged with Maintaining a Nuisance Dwelling, Possession of Rock Cocaine with Intent to Sell, Possession of Hydromorphone with Intent to Sell, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell, Possession of Alprazolam with Intent to Sell, Possession of Buprenorphine with Intent to Sell, and Possession of Cannabis Under 20 Grams. He was released Thursday on $39,500 bond.
