Venice Couple Busted For Selling Meth

Venice, Fla. (970 WFLA)-  The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Venice residents after a search warrant on their home revealed large quantities of methamphetamine, marijuana and other drugs.

Special Investigation Section detectives working in partnership with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, began their investigation into 37 year old Lauri Miller, and 35 year old Eric Jones, after identifying narcotic sales out of their Venice home. 

On Tuesday, detectives from both agencies executed a search warrant at the couples Kellogg Lane address, where they discovered more than 14 grams of methamphetamine, nearly 19 grams of marijuana, 24 dilaudid pills, butane hash oil, various drug paraphernalia, and more than $1600 in cash. 

Detectives also checked the home’s septic tank where they recovered an additional 94 grams of methamphetamine that Miller is suspected of flushing down the toilet upon law enforcement’s arrival. 

Both Miller and Jones are charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Tetrahydrocannabinols, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Miller also faces charges of Maintaining a Nuisance Dwelling, Trafficking in Hydromorphone and Tampering with Evidence. 

The duo remains in custody today without bond.
