Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-A man wanted for killing another man in a 2012 drunk driving crash has been returned to the Tampa Bay area.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Christopher Ponce is in jail here after being extradited from Spain following his arrest there last year. Ponce is accused of the death of 20 year-old William Angel in the crash.
Troopers say Ponce had been placed on house arrest after the fatal crash, but managed to escape in 2013 before his trial. It took eight months for Ponce to be extradited.
Ponce is now facing eight new charges for escaping and missing his trial.
