Osprey, Fla. (970 WFLA)-The wife of Allman Brothers band member Dickey Betts is facing criminal charges for allegedly threatening to shoot at members of a rowing team if they came onto her property. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested Donna Betts Tuesday.
The sheriff's office reports says the 62-year-old woman pointed a rifle at members of the neighboring Sarasota crew as they prepared for practice on a waterway off of Palmetto Avenue in Osprey.
Betts later tossed the weapon in the water before retreating inside her home. The rifle was recovered.
Betts was booked into the Sarasota County Jail on eighteen counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
