Fire Extinguisher Activated At Movie Theater

Hillsborough, Fla.(970 WFLA)- HCSO Detectives would like to speak to the unidentified person seen in the surveillance photos to determine if he has any pertinent information about who activated the fire extinguisher inside the theater.

On February 25, 2017 at 8:38 p.m., the fire extinguisher in theater #20 of Regal Cinemas Citrus Park was activated, causing carbon dioxide to spread throughout the theater.

Several patrons attempted to exit the theater, but were unable to open the single door that led out to the hallway.  After several attempts to open it, patrons exited out the emergency exit located next to the movie screen.

Through several interviews, it was learned the main entrance/exit door to theater #20 was barricaded  to prevent patrons from leaving.

Anyone with any information reference this individual or the suspect(s) is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200 or anyone with any information regarding the identity and whereabouts of these suspects and who wants to be eligible for a cash reward is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477)
