NO FIFTH STARTER YET: Manager Joe Maddon said the decision on who will be the team's fifth man in the rotation come Opening Day has not been decided yet.

"[It's] down to the cardinal from Argentina and the cardinal from Bologna," the Rays skipper joked.  "There's no white smoke yet."

Left-hander Cesar Ramos and righty Jake Odorizzi each threw Thursday, while lefty Erik Bedard started Friday.  Maddon said he hopes a decision can be announced as soon as after Saturday's game.

JOYCE TO TAKE BP: Maddon also said OF Matt Joyce, who has been dealing with a stiff neck, is scheduled to take batting practice today in Port Charlotte, and all goes well, could be in the lineup Sunday when the Rays go to JetBlue Park to take on the Boston Red Sox.
