Respected national baseball writer Jon Paul Morosi reported Thursday that the Rays are in trade talks with Seattle, with David Price the focal point.

According to Morosi, Seattle is also interested in acquiring Ben Zobrist.

Here is the original tweet from Morosi of Fox Sports:

Seattle has a young pitcher the Rays covet in Taijuan Walker, who has made two starts after spending the season on the disabled list. With Felix Hernandez, Hisashi Iwakuma and potentially Price the Mariners could afford to lose Walker.

Also on the major-league roster the Mariners have a surplus of veteran bats such as Justin Smoak and Logan Morrison, middle infielder Nick Franklin has been on the Rays' radar for a while.
