Behind another stellar outing from Alex Cobb and some timely hitting, the Rays were able to pick up their second victory in as many games. Four different Rays batters had multi-hit games including Zobrist who collected three hits. It was a 6-1 victory for the Rays who are starting to come around offensively.

The Rays wasted no time jumping ahead as Matt Joyce delivered a two-run double in the second inning. Cobb gave up just three hits on six and a third innings pitched while striking out eleven Astros hitters. Jon Singleton was a victim of three of those eleven strikeouts, but he also put up the only run for Houston on a fourth inning solo home run.

Tampa responded in the next half inning as Ben Zobrist tripled to score two more runs for the Rays in the fifth and give them a 4-1 lead. Evan Longria also got in on the action late as he singled to left scoring another pair of Rays runs.

Tomorrow the Rays and Astros will play an afternoon game with first pitch set for 4:10PM. Coverage will begin on 620WDAE/95.3 FM at 3PM with the Suncoast Hyundai Dealers Inside Pitch.
