So much for going for a second straight victory in Fort Myers.

Monday's game between the Minnesota Twins and Tampa Bay rays at Hammond Stadium was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The team says Chris Archer, who was supposed to start the game, will instead go back to Port Charlotte and throw in the cages.

Tuesday the Rays are home against the Boston Red Sox, with Jake Odorizzi scheduled to start against Clay Buchholz.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:05.

COLOME SUSPENDED FOR PED USE: Major League Baseball also suspended pitcher Alex Colome for 50 games without pay Monday for violating the league's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program after the right-hander tested positive for Boldenone, an anabolic steroid used to treat horses.

The team released a statement regarding Colome's suspension:

"We were disappointed to learn of Alex Colome's violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.  We fully support Major League Baseball's policy and its efforts to eliminate performance-enhancing substances from our game.  Per the protocol outlined in the Joint Drug Program, the organization will not comment further on this matter."

The suspension will begin at the beginning of the regular season March 31.
