The Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox both said before Friday's game that any animosity from last weekend's altercation at Tropicana Field was past them.

It certainly didn't look that way.

Friday's contest saw David Price hit two Boston hitters, while Red Sox starter Brandon Workman, manager John Farrell and two other Red Sox coaches were all ejected in a contest eventually won by the Red Sox thanks to an A.J. Pierzynski double in the tenth inning for a 3-2 decision over the Rays.

Tampa Bay got on the board in the first inning, when David DeJesus led off the game with a double to right, moving to third on an error by Grady Sizemore, and scored on a groundout by Ben Zobrist.

The tensions started mounting in the bottom of the inning, when Price hit David Ortiz with two out in the inning.  Both benches were warned, and Farrell was ejected.

Price would later hit Mike Carp in the fourth inning on a pitch inside.  Both benches would empty on to the field, though no punches were thrown.  Bench Coach Torey Lovullo would be ejected.

The Rays added a second run in the fifth, as Yunel Escobar doubled to lead off the inning, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Jose Molina, and scored on a single by DeJesus.

Boston got on the board in the bottom of the inning on three straight two-out singles by Xander Bogaerts, Dustin Pedroia and Ortiz off Price.

Workman and third base coach Brian Butterfield would be ejected in the sixth when the Boston starter threw behind Evan Longoria.

The Red Sox drew even in the seventh, as Jackie Bradley Jr. led off with a single, and would score two batters later on a double by Bogaerts.

After forcing extra innings, Juan Carlos Oviedo hit Jonny Gomes with a changeup before Pierzynski lined a pitch into the triangle, and when Wil Myers and Desmond Jennings collided, Gomes was able to score all the way from first base.

Tampa Bay's fourth straight loss dropped the Rays in to the worst record in the American League.

They will look to turn things around Saturday, when Jake Odorizzi gets the start.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:10, with coverage starting at 6:00 with the Suncoast Hyundai Dealers Inside Pitch.
