The New England Patriots have surfaced as the favorite to land Buccaneers corner back Darrelle Revis following Aqib Talib's six year contract announced late Tuesday night. The top need for the Patriots is at corner back and following the eventual release of Revis by the Buccaneers after not finding a trade partner, the Pats will be among the teams to go after Revis if he hits the market according to several reports.

Oh. No. @BuckyBrooks just told me after being waived tomorrow Darrelle Revis will wind up...a New England Patriot.— Jason Smith (@howaboutafresca) March 12, 2014
Patriots in a strong position to land Revis now, especially after Talib's deal. Revis wants to be there. Will only take a 5th round pick— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) March 12, 2014
Revis is scheduled to make $16 million next season as part of a deal that would be voided if he is released by Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers will hold a 3pm press conference tomorrow at One Buccaneer Place to introduce their new free agent signings. There is no word on if the team will make a decision on Revis before or after the press conference.
