The Lightning continue the road trip in Dallas with a 4-2 win Saturday night.

The first period scenario seemed familiar as the Bolts got an early 2-0 with goals from Marty St. Louis and Nate Thompson. They went to the first intermission with a 2-0 lead just like they did Thursday in the 3-2 loss to Nashville. The question on everybody’s mind was: could they hang on?

The second period started off nicely when the Bolts got another goal from St. Louis to increase the lead to 3-0. This was St. Louis’ second 2-goal game in a row. Later in the period, the nightmare of a Stars comeback seems entirely possible when they got goals from Antoine Roussel and Vernon Fiddler. Heading into the second intermission the Bolts’ lead was cut to one goal.

It was the Sami Salo third period, which gave the Lightning a 4-2 lead, that gave enough of a cushion to hold on. The Stars had chances late in the game but were not able to get any pucks past Ben Bishop.

Ben Bishop allowed two goals on 41 shots. St. Louis only made two shots, but they both found the back of the net.

The Lightning continue the road trip Sunday night in Colorado when they face the Avalanche at 8 PM. Listen to the pregame on 970WFLA at 7:30.
