Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Triple A says gasoline prices have dropped for 36 straight days here in Florida. The auto club says prices have gone down by 25 cents in that period of time.
The Auto Club Group's Mark Jenkins says the price drop really picked up speed over the past week with a seven cent drop. The Florida-wide average is now at $2.57 per gallon.
Jenkins says the price of producing gas has declined dramatically during the past month due to concerns over lower demand and strong fuel supply and production. Jenkins is also predicting that pump prices could drop another 10 to 20 cents before 2019.
The most expensive gas prices are in Panama City at $2.86. The least expensive gas can be found in the Tampa Bay area at $2.42.
