Tampa, Fla. (970 WFLA)- An eighteen wheeler hauling a trailer filled with frozen chicken, burst into flames in the southbound lanes of I-75, near mile marker 257, Tuesday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Sgt. Steve Gaskins says the rear brakes suffered a mechanical failure and caught fire. The truck driver safely stopped the semi on the side of the road, he was not injured.
The fire closed the southbound lanes of I-75 for almost an hour while fire crews extinguished the fire.
