Mulberry, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A fire at an abandoned auto repair shop sparked chemicals that exploded Sunday morning. Smoke from the fire mixed with fog to make it impossible to see on State Road 60, and officials closed down the road between Bailey Road and Luel Street.

The chemical explosions inside the building at 3845 State Road 60 raised the blaze to a two-alarm fire. Polk County Fire Rescue said that units on site included three battalion chiefs, Engines 711, 481, 721 and 751, an air truck. Medic rescue units 721 and 481 were also on scene.

No one was believed to be inside the building at the time of the fire. The fire marshal will investigate to determine the fire's cause.
