PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Pinellas Park Police say early Wednesday morning unknown person(s) stole the Ford vehicle belonging to 84-year-old Charles Clark from the front of his residence located on 76th Avenue. Police say it happened sometime between 11:00pm and 3:00am.

Police say the vehicle was recovered this morning in St. Pete and officers are looking for a suspect.

Police say this is the same man was attacked and stabbed in what is believed to have been an attempted robbery shortly before 10:00 am Tuesday.

Tuesday, Pinellas PD said Clark suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Before he was transported, police say he told them that he had just pulled into the parking lot and exited his vehicle when he was grabbed from behind by an unknown person. Police say he said he struggled to break free and knocked one of the subjects to the ground, struggled with one of the other male subjects, and then one of the subjects produced a knife and Clark was stabbed at least twice. A knife was found at the scene, according to police, that was believed to have been used in the attack. A passerby saw the attack and ran to help Clark, police said, as he scared the attackers off who got away on bicycles.

Tuesday, Clark believed the motivation for the attack was to steal his vehicle, police said.
