SPRING HILL, Fla. (970 WFLA) – Hernando County deputies say 49-year-old Jerome Sheridan is in custody and charged with first degree murder after a teacher was found dead in her Spring Hill home Monday.
Deputies say they were called to the 1200 block of Meredith Drive around 7:30 a.m. Monday for a well-being check on a Central High School English teacher, Lee Anne Shoeman, who did not report to work.
When deputies got to her home, they say they found her deceased. They then issued an alert seeking Sheridan as a ‘person of interest.’
According to HCSO, Jerome Sheridan was found in the parking lot of the Citrus Park Mall by Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies at 6:00 p.m. Monday evening. Hernando authorities say Hillsborough deputies found him in his car, attempting to cut his wrists and he was then taken to an area hospital. Officials say he was later taken into custody and charged with first degree murder.
